Parking brake service required

Hi,
I had this message pop up about a month ago but its popping up more often now. I used the torque app and got a fault code of p061e Internal Control Module Brake Signal Performance. Everything is working fine park brake etc, any pointers?

Cheers
Simon

I had the same problem. Turned out my battery needed replacing. It should've been producing 700cca but was only producing 330cca. Less than half.

Replaced the battery with a 720cca battery and the message has never come back since.

Same fault January on mine and mine was the battery as well.

Dealers can now do proper tests on batteries which up until January I did not know. I had always thought the only test was a drop test.

Thanks for that vol. I'll pop to my local garage today and see if they can test it. It's a bit wierd as everything seems to work.

Most Halfords will test your battery for free using the proper kit...yes, it's surprising, but Halfords do actually have the right kit to test a battery for free measuring CCA as well as volts.

I have popped into the garage and they tested the battery, his machine was flashing yellow and he said it requires replacement the battery was at 12.8v, the alternator is charging fine. Battery on order will post back the result.

Most battery testers will do an alternator test so its good to know its been done on yours and its working ok.

For a battery try eurocarparts. I bought mine from them and got a good deal from them.

You also want to test the ampage of the battery. Should be in the region of 700 cca (cold cranking amp).

Was that with the engine running or off?

dacman Sep 21st, 2016 18:40

That was off, 14.something running
His machine basically give red, flashing amber, solid amber and green. Red is dead flashing amber is requires replacement solid amber consider replacement and green ok, that's what he told me. It's a Volvo battery so I presume it's original and 10 years old.

On the face of it,12.8 is a healthy voltage. Did it drop significantly under load then?
