V60 2013 - Auxiliary Battery Location for Stop / Start?
 

Hello,

I have a V60 2013 1.6 R Design Diesel, the Stop / Start works occasionally.

I'm trying to find where on the car I can find the battery, can anyone tell me please?

Start/stop
 

Start/stop does not work when the engine is cold. The engine must be warm (I think 60degC or higher) before function becomes active.

The stop/start relies on the main battery. The small aux battery is apparently just to keep the cabin equipment working for the short periods during system 'stop' periods.

Are you finding that your stop/start system is always inactive? Mine hardly ever works and it seems to be a very common complaint... I've come to the conclusion that the system parameters only allow it to function if you have a main battery that is new (or near-new).

I've assumed that you've drilled down into the Sensus menus to establish the reasons for the system not working? There's quite a few!

I have just been through this same process myself! Slowly started getting less and less active.
And quite simply it all comes down to the main battery. I just had a Lucas one fitted ...(at £185...Stop Start batteries are not cheap!).
Since fitting it took a couple o days to reach max charge but it is all fully working again 100%

My ‘stop-start’ stopped working recently, at much the same time as I started getting ‘low battery’ warnings. I was not surprised at the battery warnings as the car was not being used much and only on short runs during the Covid lock-down. Also the handbook does say that the function will disable if the battery is low, so I purchased and fitted a battery conditioner. Problem immediately solved - no more battery warnings and the ‘stop-start’ always works, even when the engine is cold.
