Vandalism after England-Sweden game
Hi all
I posted a similar thread on the general forum because it might effect all Volvos, but - did everyone's car come out of the weekend unscathed following the England-Sweden game? Or was it just me... Last Sunday, the morning after England beat Sweden, I woke up to find my 240 estate was badly vandalised (on a street in Brighton). I've had to replace the nearside front door. Nothing was stolen, and there was no attempt to steal the car (thankfully). When I saw on the news that apparently an Ikea store was beset upon by drunk England fans, this added to my speculation that the mindless violence on my car was somehow related to the football, plus the diabolical combination of high alcohol levels and low IQs. I suspect that 200s, and 700 & 900s - which look most like archetypical 'Volvos' - would be more likely to attract this type of moronic behaiour than newer Volvos for several reasons - one is the new ones are more likely to have alarms, and also newer ones barely look like Volvos and might get mistaken for Kias especially if you're drunk. Hopefully I'm the only one, but did anyone have any trouble after the Football on Saturday? Thanks John |
The S60, C30 and V70 on my drive all escaped Scot (or should that be Swede) free.

I'd told my wife I was scrapping mine if we lost ;)

What were you going to do - go out and buy a British car to hang your St Georges flags from? John |

My 740 attracted similar attention a few weeks back, when my son parked it down a cul-de-sac behind a pub in Littlehampton. Next day he saw the size 12 Doc martin boot marks on the nearside doors, and two door handles kicked right off.
Maybe football came into that equation but the real culprit is alcohol (or rather too much of it) unless ones car got muddled with a pi**-head brawl. Then there was the moron who drove right through my 740 door mirror last week whilst my car was parked outside, and didn't stop - yep, the world is becoming full of don't-give-a-damn's nowadays. That's why it isn't worth having a nice car parked on the road nowadays. P |
Yes I heard there was a deliberate targeting of Volvo's, my taxi driver told me on Sunday.
AND also targeting of taxi drivers. Post-brexit scum confusing politics with their own ****ty views. |
The scum that vandalised Swedish cars are probably that thick that they don't realise that the cars they drive are no more English than Volvos are.
I doubt there are many chavs driving Morgans or Bristols nowadays. |
I am going to hide my new Croatian super car tonight :-(

After France won the world cup I have noticed a lot of (what I can only assume are vandalised) Citroens.
Oh no that's right, they were made that ugly. Cactus my uss! |
