What to do?
I sadly crashed my v70 t5 on the weekend.
It still drives but the body is beyond repair. It's a 1999 auto with the fly by wire throttle and low mileage. What should I do with it? Sell the full running car, but as I understand it the fly by wire engines are undesirable for tuning/engine swaps? Or do I take my new ETM and battery off and then weight it in? I also own a base model 1998 v70 with cable throttle that has a bad ignition barrel could I swap them without issue? |
You could try selling it complete for spares,or if you have the room/time inclination you could strip a lot of it to sell separately and weigh in the remainder[but it can take quite a while to find buyers for all the bits]Don't know what your keys are like can you get to the transponder chips in both of them to swap them over?If you change ignition barrel then obviously you're changing having to use the key that fits the barrel and without changing transponder chip you'd[I think]run into the problem of the immobiliser not recognizing the "new"key?
