dog dish flywheel

Hi

I'm after a solid flywheel for my 940, looking to change from the dual mass fitted.
It's for a 1994 2.3 turbo, M90 gearbox, I think it has to be lh2.4 for it to work?

Thanks

Hello

Where did you get one from?

I'm having a nightmare with a juddering clutch for the want of a dogdish in good nick? I need one for a 240

Let me know would you?

Cheers

Hi Nick

Ebay was my friend on this
I did not have one at all
I needed one to fit to a 940 turbo that is going in the 240

if your clutch is juddering just have the flywheel skimmed
take say 1 mm or till its flat
dont forget to have the ears that stick up
that hold the presser plate skimmed the same amount as well

let me know if you need more help with this

Hi Grumpydad

Thanks for that

A local gearbox specialist has tried skimming two flywheels for me to no avail - they say that the surface is so hard that it just throws off their cutter and because the surface is recessed they simply couldn't skim the flywheels properly!

So the car is driveable, but as soon as you use any revs to move off or you reverse, the clutch judders - in reverse you get a sort of booming from the propshaft too... Short term I can live with this, but it's not good longer term

So I am a bit lost at the moment - going to call Dai at Classic Swede in the next day or two. Unless you or anyone else has a better idea?

M90 gearbox conversion

I am converting from a M46 to a M90 gearbox on a 940 2.3Ft. My local Volvo dealer does not show a pilot bearing or spigot bearing for the clutch input shaft in his data base.

Am I correct in assuming that there is a required pilot bearing for the M90 and that it is likely a different shaft diameter that the M46 gearbox?

Hi
yes you are right the M90 is bigger
if you want some sizes let me know

but please ask this in the general section

thanks
