Not trying to rain on your parade, but just suggest a little friendly advice.

480s are getting rather like hen's teeth in any half-decent condition.

Most - even the good ones - have a little rust to tackle, and other odd quirks that you would expect from a car that, at its very youngest, will now be well over 20 years old.

Maroon and white were both popular colours, particularly on the later models (indeed they were 2 of only 3 colours the Celebration came in, the other being Storm Grey).

Plus you specify 1.7 - not sure if that is absolutely vital to you, but from 1993 onwards (to meet your clear indicator model requirement) most of the non-turbo models will be 2 litre.

I hope for your sake that I am proved wrong - but I think you are seeking perfection in any event and, if you find it, I suspect that it is most likely to be maroon with a 2 litre engine...

Don't take this the wrong way - I know what seeking a "near as perfect as possible 480" is like because I have done it. Personally I'd have liked another maroon Celebration, but ended up paying a lot of money for a nearly perfect green GT. It has minor rust spots that I am dealing with; I have traced an occasionally erratic speedo to the main IP connector blocks so that's solved, etc etc.

So I do wish you every good luck in your search. I just fear you may be limiting yourself out of the actual market in the real world. After all, less than 80,000 were produced in total and most are now long gone anyway.

Best

David
