Xenon Bulbs

Hi.

Does anyone know which Xenon bulbs the new V40 takes. I want to swap the stock ones out for better quality ones but can't find details anywhere of which ones it takes, I check the owners manual but it doesn't say. I am am guessing they are probably D1S bulbs as that is what most other Xenon equipped Volvo's take but just wondered if anyone knew for sure.

Thanks.

Take the rubber cover off the back of the headlight and either use a mirror or use a camera to take a pic of whatever is in there. That is what I did to find out what was fitted to my S60.

I dont think they are D2S, looking at the picture in the owners manual they look like either D1S or D3S as they have the square base.

I dont think you can open the cover without taking the whole headlight out.

i though these new style bulbs (HID)were not mot passable on car that not designed for them? tho im told to use these u need adjustable head lights and washers on your head lights,??? see so many going around now days.

The OP's car has HID bulbs as standard. I think he simply wants to uprate them?

whats OP? and my car is 2001 so would i get away with doing head lights?

OP is original poster. The one who started the thread. Unless your car was originally fitted with HID bulbs then it would be both expensive and a potential MOT fail for you to fit a conversion kit.
