C70 door latch issue
 

recently bought ( yesterday ) a 56 reg 2.4 auto , couple of issues with one being the driver door doesn't always close as it should , it sort of bounces , unless I keep weight against it , then it shuts correctly everytime , if I operate the latch with a screwdriver it appears to work just fine , any ideas folks ??
the 2nd issue is a rattly vibration under heavier throttle inputs , suspension seems tight having pry barred it , only thing I can find id the drivers side inner CV joint has play in it , could this be the cause ??

Hi,

If you search for a thread titled 'C70 drivers door lock' from about 4/5 months ago you'll get plenty of info on lubricating the lock. You might find that the door opens to the second stage on the latch with the roof down occasionally, I ended up getting a new(used) latch mechanism from eBay and that has solved the problem. (Fiddly job though!)
