KJet Idle ... How to adjust?
So I have recently solved my issues with my new to me 240. After changing in-tank pump, fuel pump relay, new leads/plugs/cap and rotor. Checked all filters etc the engine now starts first time and runs nice and smooth.
The only issue now is the idle is running high, I have a feeling it may have been adjusted in the past to counteract the fueling issues. I am not sure how to adjust it, the Haynes manual is a little.... over complicated. I would say it's currently running about 1200rpm, so how do I reduce this guys? I did have a search on here, but couldn't find what I needed. Thanks |

The idle turn screw is a largish black plastic one just under the throttle body:~
Turned by hand up to slow down for faster: Picture may help- highlighted in yellow. Regards Bob. |
Perfect thanks

If you haven't done so replace the injector o rings at somepoint. Cheap and made the idle on mine run lovely too.

I would also remove sometime the butterfly casing witch the idle screws into and give it a good internal clean as the channels in the casting will slowly carbon up. i would be very surprised if you have to adjust the butterfly stop if it hasn't been moved from new but you may need new gaskets. this will the idle speed.
