front ball joint
 

hi

the better half has just had the V40 mot'd and the front ball joint needs replacing x(

now the garage (local not volvo) has called volvo and they state that the ball joint is not available seperatly and they only sell the whole bottom arm at £97.58

now one of you guys can tell me different cant you ???

mot runs out thursday so this needs sorting

o.k. just called eurocarparts, and they say the part is part of te wishbone complete, but they do it for £59.00 plus VAT

cant be bad

just gotta see if the geeza will fit it

picked the car up and the gezza found a ball joint for 28.00ish, bit of a difference to the 100 odd quid volvo wanted

why dont they supply the parts ????

oh well, its sorted and the wallet isnt as black and blue as expected

I think that the dealers are hoping to get people unlike you and I. Quite a few people I know would have just forked out instantly for teh Vovlo part hence earning them lots of dosh, the couple of people who go elsewhere really doesn't matter to them (I think).

to right, they could make all that extra cash just by selling the parts, rather than ripping us off !!

oh, and thanks to whoever mentioned eurocarparts, looks like they'll save me a few quid in the future.
