Engine wont start fan works constantly

Hello ,

I own a 2001 V40 (non turbo) and worked fine.

Yesterday , came home , and moved gear to Parking, idle started to climb up to 3000-4000 and more , so I turned off the engine.

Wanted to start again - engine is turning but does not start.

Replaced the throttle body and MAF -it didn't help.

Also , fan is working constantly even when switch is turned off.

DTC:
VGLA-312 - siren internal battery fault
VGLA-422 - glass breakage sensor internal fault
VGLA-432 - Tilt sensor internal fault
ECM-0F intake air temperature (IAT) sensor - signal to high
ECM-13 MAF sensor signal too high
ECM-25 Air/fuel ratio deviation - signal too high
ECM-44 miss fire emmission level - faulty signal
CCM-001F - Blower fan motor signal too high
CCM-0081 - Damper motor temperature signal missing.

Appreciate you kind assistance .

Best wishes.

Well, it may be a shot in the dark given that none of the codes point in this direction but I would be tempted to replace the thermostat and engine temp sensor. My second thought was MAF but i see you already went there. Good luck keep us posted.

Thank you for your kind reply.

I have noticed that temperature on dash is at maximum (on the red line).

So you think it can be something with the engine/fluid temperature sensor ?

I disconnected it and still it showed red on dash.

Do you think this will not allow engine to start ?

Defenetly it's the ECT sensor, for protecting the engine it will not start.

Well, here's to hoping your engine is not ACTUALLY so hot that the temp is at the red line. Does it pop up to that temp on the dial immediately? If so, highly likely that it's not actually that hot and that the ECT is fried. I would definitely replace thermostat and ECT. Very likely the end of your problems...unless of course you had an overheat issue recently???

Before replacing take a good hard look at the wires to the ECT just to be sure one didn't get clipped by mistake.

Please let us know how you made out.

Thank you very much for all of you who tried to assist.

ECT was the problem.

Bless you.
