C70 Rear Light assembly

I need to replace the N/S rear light assembly on my 2007 C70

I have the new one and can see that it is held in by four nuts

I have managed to remove two of the trim fixing clips and pulling back on the soft trim panel I have managed to remove three of the nuts BUT I cant get to the bottom centre/inboard one as the plastic trim that runs along the back of the boot needs to come out, so I can get access to this last nut and also pull the soft trim off and then get a socket on the nut

BUT I can't see how to remove that big plastic trim panel that contains the two boot lights and the 12V socket

HELP PLEASE

thanks

Hi DLM48
I had an issue with my boot latch and the mechanic looked like he prised it of upwards, it then clipped back into place. To the best of my memory and knowledge there was nothing to undo, just a bit of brute force. Obviously there must be wiring to the boot lights so it has to be eased off if this makes sense.

Try this thread. Document within shows how the panel is removed.

Boot lights pop out & remove connectors. Remove 2 screws behind each light then a good tug of the panel upwards!

Thanks for saying about popping the lights and the screws behind them. Didn't see the mechanic do that part.

WOW great info here as usual

JOB DONE NOW!!!!

Sadly I had used strengthened clear tape with a thread to hold on the broken rear light assembly and that has left a nasty residue on the body

ONLY problem was getting off the L/H boot lid stop as I could not get the screw cover off without driving a small sharp screw driver into it to lever it out

THANKS for all the help here

Something like this would probably get rid of the residue https://www.holtsauto.com/simoniz/pr...-glue-remover/
