XC40 Recharge Pure Electric single Vs twin motor

I'm considering the above car in the FWD single motor version. I can't find much information online from users, I assume as it is still new and I'm unsure if anyone has had this car delivered yet? Given its £5k less than the twin motor AWD version, is there any reason not to go with the FWD single motor? I appreciate it's not as quick but it is still fast enough at 7.4secs 0-100km/h and it appears more energy efficient than the twin motor.

Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything?

Also has anyone bought the car cash (without volvo care subscription) and still got the 3yr servicing?

Thanks!

We have ordered 4wd c40 instead of 2wd xc40 because it has bigger battery (and thus better range) and also wanted 4wd. And 400bhp. But that was back in November before they relaunched the 4wd xc40

The better range was the key thing for us

Had a couple of XC40 recharges and now a C40. Really notice the range seems a lot better on the C40 vs. earlier XC40's with the software updates that have taken place.

Watched autogehfuel video Comparing xc40 with c40, single and dual motor, and they thought (not v scientific test) that the dual motor c40 was similar range to single motor xc40, though I cannot remember if they had same battery

The single motor has a smaller battery than the twin.

Single: 69kWh (67 usable)
Twin: 78kWh (75 usable)

In my experience, in the real world with mixed driving I really don't think you'll be able to notice a difference in range between the two.

The twin "feels" massively more accelerative and I would personally pay the £5k for it but that is part of the appeal of an electric vehicle for me.

We've just got a new xc40 recharge single motor. Its pretty quick, enough for what we need. Of course if you are a car nut the twin motor is a must have.
We've not done huge amounts of mileage yet but consumption seems to sit around 33kwh with the a/c on auto 20c. Mixed driving. It has 255 width tyres rear and 235 front. Continentals.
Range at 90% claims about 150.
It wouldn't connect to our home wifi so I created a guest network which it connected to. I think its possibly dependant on which encryption type is set.
Enjoying it so far. Only annoying thing is when using spotify it steams it over its in built sim card so if you drive through areas with bad signal it drops out, easily solved by playing it through mobile phone instead of the built in app. It only reads text messages not whatsapp messages, which is odd. My dads 3yr old transit reads out whatsapp!!

Wider tyres on the back than the front with front wheel drive? Really? That seems odd!

You are correct in that the 4wd P8 (2 engines, 408HP) has a bigger battery, 78kWh capacity battery then the P6 (1 engine, 231HP) that has a 69kWh capacity battery.

However, I am finding your assertion a bit strange as per the specs the P8 has a shorter/worse range with 418Km than the P6 with 423Km...

Do you have different specs?

Twin Motor XC40 or C40 models are no longer available for some strange reason.

Note that Volvo are in the process of launching extended range models which will have a bigger battery similar to that in the AWD but these will now be RWD for MY24. AWD currently on hold in the UK due to production issues again and allocation oversold.
