S40 front bumper, removing part

Hello,

I have a Volvo S40 for around one year now. I'm loving the car.
There is some damage in/on the front bumper that really annoys me.

I think when I'm able to fold the piece back (see images), that this will be less visible.
Right now it is sticking out, because it has no other way to go. I want to put this back to the original place. Somehow 'folding' it back.

Anyone that has experience with this, or maybe knows how to fix this?

(Im unable to upload pictures.. somehow, pictures are visible here: https://imgur.com/a/uUsjKvz )

Thank you in advance!

The strip pushes into the bumper, it may be better to pull it out completely. You will need.to take the side marker out.
Then refit the trim

Hi druid,

I tried to get the strip off the bumper.. but it didn't really work.
It seems that the strip goes behind the bumper, at least what I was feeling.
Does this mean I need remove the whole bumper, so then I could remove the strip?

Thank you in advance!

Looking at your photo you should be able to push the small plastic bit that hangs just under the trim, tuck it in the bumper and you should be able to push in the trim.

To remove the trim, it's quite easy when you know what you are doing. You must always start from the area near the centre of the bumper. So for example, if we take the drivers side like in your photo, you need to insert a flat blade screw driver at the vertical part of the trim, where it meets the bumper. The trim has a small lip that goes in the bumper. You will need two more screw drivers to wedge the trim from the top and the bottom. While you wedge out the trim from the top and bottom, you need to push the vertical trim towards the left, until the lip comes out. Once the first two clips and lip are out, the rest is quite easy. You just need to continue wedging the trim from the top and bottom where the other clips are and it will soon becout

Hi guys,

Thank you for your help.
I removed the strip and unbend the plastic part that was sticking out.

I think it looks way better now!
