New Sensus update available

Does the USB need to be formatted? If so to what?
Thanks |
It needs to be blank and Fat32 I think

Since 2015 I have successfully installed new versions of the map when available and I have read of people having the process fail.....
Now it has failed for me. I have tried two different USB drives, download to disk then copy to USB drive, download direct to USB, run the validation program but the car does not recognise the maps on the USB drive. The USB socket can connect to the iPhone and play music from the phone to the car audio system, charge the phone from the cart, but the Navigation system does not realise that there any maps on the USB drive. drive formatted as Fat 32 on a Mac (as always in the past) Any suggestions please |
What is the capacity of the USB drive? From memory (haha) my 2012 xc70 didn't like my 64 GB drive so I had to create a partition (32 gb I think) and copy the maps on it - at which point the car recognized the drive.

I cant help you with you problem but would like to ask you haw long it typically takes you to download the new mapping as unfortunately i only get 6 meg broadband where i live and its like watching paint dry twice over . Can you also tell me how long it takes to install it in the car please. I did used to have a V40 about four years ago and that from memory was quite quick. Thanks

I have now successfully uploaded the new version of the maps to the car. This was with a new 32MB USB drive. I did not format it, relying on the as supplied format and naming which was No Name as supplied.
The transfer stopped with an error several times so pushed Exit and the process continued. A test route work - so it looks as if my initiall problem could have been related to the name of the partition. |
I only get a 2.3 mb file when I download the update. Says 19 gb on the site.....
