Vibration in Steering wheel & pedals - V40 R-Design
Hi all.
Ive looked online as well as this forum for an answer but so far - no show! Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Car: Volvo V40 '14 Reg (MY15)? R-Design D4 Millage: 37K Problem: Steering wheel vibration in idle and whilst driving Ok, Ive had the car a few months, bought 2nd hand. Typically, the warranty has now expired and I have encountered a vibration in the steering wheel both in idle and whilst driving. Ive had the wheels balanced and inspected for damage, tracking done and suspension looked at and all are fine. Whilst the vibration isn't visibly noticeable all the time, you can certainly feel it, sort of like a stupidly fast vibration feel. As the tyres have plenty of tread and no problems, could this be an issue with the engine mounts, especially as it is very noticable in idle? Any help would be good as it's starting to cost me a small fortune in garage fees just to look for something that they cant find. Thanks |

Things to check, most likely, in this order:
1. engine mounts 2. front wheel bushings -i lack the english term for it and can't find an accurate translation but there's a "oscilation bushing" that gives a lot of weird steering wheel feedback when worn out (you'll notice it especially when braking at higher speeds) 3. injectors 4. clutch (pressure plate especially) and flywheel |
