If the new owner decides to go with semi synthetic it certainly won't be going 500k.
Admittedly OTT on price, but otherwise (apart from the oil) a really comprehensive mini restoration and write up.

Are you the same Willvg who told the seller he was ripping people off?

Yup.... maybe i shouldn't have put it that way, but i havent seen a 940 diesel sell for that sort of price, especially one that has nothing 'special' about it, its done normal milage, has no service record, and has had a fair few owners. Just like soo many other cars that we see so often, sure it has a nice write up, but if i were selling any of my cars they would get a bloody good write up, as will many of us who care for their cars!

It appears to be a very nice car, in and out, but i bet there is a rust bubble on the rear arch, and i bet the front tie plates where the arches meet are at minimum surface rusty.

Of course i may be wrong,

I obviously struck a chord with him or he wouldnt have put the message on the bottom of the add !

Let it be known that i was honestly just trying to do him a favour, save him paying for an add that may never sell.
Maybe its not my business, ahh well, noone is perfect i suppose !

Yes, it's definitely one of the best TD's this year but not worth that asking price, especially with 148k on the clock. For that money I would expect the sunroof to work, perfect door cards and blemish-free bodywork.

Have a look at posts #14,15

Of course it isn't bloody worth £3500, the seller is an idiot chancer.

Like pretty much every other car ever then? He says the cam/injector belts and idler/tensioner pulleys have been replaced. Well, let's hope he's gone for genuine parts because there's no margin for error. But I'm sure the seller is someone who doesn't mind paying a bit extra for quality stuff...

Maybe if you're talking about a £500 banger, but people like to know the history of maintenance and servicing. Especially when they are being asked to assume the position and pay £3500.

The ones on a 940 don't sag, so pointless mentioning this.

Great, shame the driver's carpet looks like crap though.

Cool, apart from the mark at the bottom left that he's tried to hide.

So.. after 2 weeks and how many miles? 50 miles? Big deal.

He had it on a month ago for £2250:

Is that a ding on the front left wing?

woodfordhalse Aug 9th, 2016 15:47

He probably dipped the dipstick in fresh oil . My oil never looks like that even after a change.
Id be happy with £750 for mine and its miles better nick with one previous owner, no wrinkly door cards and everything works.
Out of interest whats the cable on top of the IP is it cruise control?

Definitely not cruise control. Isn't it just the kickdown cable?

Yep, that's the kickdown cable. Cruise control cable would be attached to a vacuum bellows.
