Full tank challenge.
Has anyone tried a challenge where you see how far you get from 1 tank of fuel?
Could you bare driving like an old fart for a whole tanks worth of fuel? More fun would be to see who could get the leat mileage out of a tank of fuel (Solo, no Caravans or trailers allowed) |
The Most milage out of full tank of fuel i got was just over 700 mark still had plenty of diesel in tank..but i didnt want to become one of the statistics of people running out of fuel..i would find it extremely embarrassing to find myself in a situation like that..cant really understand why people run out of fuel sometimes ..cars got a fuel guage and most drivers do know what kind of milage they should be getting if their gauge is not working..and letting the fuel go all the way down is not exactly a good idea..

rules of engagement
Well I haven't set the rules yet, I just wanted to find out if there was any interest.
Fill tank to second click off, run car until orange light stays on. Will have to be different classes for petrol and diesel. |
the best i've ever done out of a full tank is just over 400miles which i didn't think was bad at all, normally average 300
|
my misses gets about 400 from a tank but i tend to be closer to 275..., when i first had my latest t5 and the cruise worked i got on a 65mph motorway run 32mpg and incredible 480 miles a tank...that was until i got bored after 120 miles and went back to my more usual style...
i did not buy a t5 to drive like a "old woman" so my results will reflect that :biggrin2: cheers jod |
i normally get about 240 miles out of my 740 but to be fair, thats a lot of town driving and short journey's. on a long journey, i can easily see 330-360 to a tank

Full tank challenge
Can the Gasmen (LPG) join in? We ( S60 and V70s ) have 45 usable litres of LPG and 25ish of petrol. Say 250 max on LPG, and 164 on petrol makes 414 miles max........... any takers?

I can just about obtain a true 74mpg (79 on the computer) which should take me past 1,100 miles! Will have to wait for a bit though. I'll see what I can squeeze out of the T5 as I'm driving it down to the south of France tonight ;) |
