Mk 2 rear suspension issue

Hi all, I have just replaced the 2 springs on the car and now it feels like I'm on a pogo stick!! When I go around corners and the road is a bit rough it's all over the place or scitting about. I never had this problem with the old springs or at least very little , should I have changed the shocks at the same time ? Or replace my old springs. The car is a 2002 with 210000 on the clock . Thanks

Seems like absorber problem. Which springs where they?

I think there's 3 types of rear springs: for nivomat absorbers, for regular absorbers, and heavy duty for regular absorbers for heavy loading and towing.

Hi - not sure - maybe springs not seated correctly?

sorry not to answer, but I'd like to know how you did your rear spring change - ie, did you need a spring compressor?

And if so, what type (internal or external)

Thanks

Hi Did your mate forget to put the shocks back in ?
How did the car feel before you had the new springs fitted, why did you fit new springs

Yes shocks in , he is a mechanic , ride was ok until I used the boot ,springs had gone weak

Hi I would say the shocks may have gone week,
unless the new springs have been made wrong ,
Dave

There is a difference in the ride height of about 1" , higher
