Noisy fan on the Climate

OK then,

The Mrs V40 has an annoying noise from the Vents when the aircon/fan is running. Any ideas?

Thanks

Without actually hearing the noise:
Leaf/debris in the fan
Fan bearing

Yeah, I appreciate it is tricky, she has now advised me the Climate isn't cooling either. I have got someone coming to check and re-gas as required on Friday - it hasn't been done in the six years we have had the car.

Edit, In fact, I have just been out to the car and the sound is only present when the Aircon is on. If the fan is on without the aircon it is fine. I suspect it may be low on gas.

Further edit, It is more of a hiss.

Just an update, it was low on gas. The engineer reckons there is a small leak somewhere in the system so we shall 'let it develop'.

He has broken the law then by releasing a car with a known AC gas leak . Why didn't he leak test it and finish off the job ? I would take it elsewhere next time to a qualified AC engineer ..

Hmm ok, there were no obvious leaks from any of the parts we could see, all the joins seemed ok. He did do some sort of test. He put a dye in the system to look for any fault.

The most likely place is the condenser in front the radiator but you cant examine it fully without taking it out .
he should have pressurised it to working pressure with Nitrogen gas then sprayed soapy water over the parts , there would be bubble forming from the leak .
Dye is ok for a big leak but with a slow one it will get dirt stuck to it , go black and dry up so not much help.

It was the condenser. The Aircon started only working on one side so I took the cover off and saw that the Air Con condenser had been leaking. It is getting dealt with today.
