Do you have a spacesaver spare wheel?

If so, it might not be fully secured.
Worth a check IMO.

I had an irritating knocking noise that seemed to come from the rear of my car but after a good deal of searching I found it was a badly fitted air filter box and that is right at the front of the car, maybe you need to look at other areas of your car.

No I have one of them cans of mousse... I never thought about looking at the front.. I will check :)

I tried driving with the boot open today and still there also, I also will check the front but I swear its from the back...

Rocinante Feb 6th, 2019 11:17

Can you get a passenger involved to locate the noise while on the move to pinpoint the exact location ?

Pointer7 Feb 6th, 2019 12:30

Yea I have resorted to roping on my step brother to sit in the rear at the weekend to try and sort it... Its definitely a hollow type sound so it must be around the parcel shelf type area.. Maybe rooflining?

Pointer7 Feb 9th, 2019 15:11

I've been out again today to find the knocking.. Been u underneath it, pulled the carpet out the back, checked rear seats, doors everything but nothing! This is really testing my patience now

Not listened to the video but I also have a really annoying knocking noise from the back of my V60.

Took everything out that could come out and then a friend of mine drove it whilst I was in the boot listening.

Come to the conclusion that it’s definitely from the rear and probably top mounts.

Had two massive bushes and links replaced already which didn’t do anything. It’s got progressively worse so it’s definately bushes deteriorating.

It’ll get done at its next service in October, unless it drives me round the bend before then..!

Pointer7 Feb 12th, 2019 17:29

Well I relented and phoned my local (excellent) mechanic and he says drop links so fingers crossed that's it..

Pointer7 Feb 19th, 2019 13:23

Well my mechanic had a look and everything is fine with the suspension. He thinks I might have been unlucky and just got a bad shock absorber (even though they are new) otherwise I'm at a loss... He checked top mounts, links, bushes everything.. I'm still convinced its inside either boot area or parcel shelf area...

Car is going back to where shocks were done at the weekend so they can check the shocks over.
