Introducing Wlliam the '68 Amazon Estate
1 Attachment(s)
So after 7 years of regret of selling my rotted out Amazon Estate and many, many disappointing viewings of over priced rust buckets, a '68 extremely original one is joining my little family.
Saying good-bye to my little driven V70 that it is replacing, this one's being put to good use. A ruthless sort out in my garage is over due so it can live indoors It will remain unaltered apart from a good set of seat-belts There's minimal body work issues that will be attended to before it goes out and about Dunno why my young twins insist on naming my cars, but William has been insisted on, so William it will be! |
Looks very nice Adam, cant wait to see it :)

Well done mate. Patience prevailed in the end.
Sweet William. |
An early morning rise to go down to the coast with my boy to pick up the old car with a trailer. It rained all day and blew Hellish, but we had a great day and we did sneak in a little drive around the farm. I love it!
First on the list is to take out the N/S rear quarter window as condensation over the years under the rubber has caused some corrosion which is now letting in water. Consequently, there's a problem too down below where the water's pooled. Both rear arches need a tidy up, especially after I let the old thing slip on a wet wooden ramp I need to use to put it to beddy-byes in the barn. It slipped off and just touched the plough and scratched and dented it.... Oh well! I found out something utterly amazing. It spent its first few years living just a few miles away from here in a town called Cullompton. I'm bound to know someone who knew someone who owned it! It has a service history for many, many years by Kastner, my well used by me local Volvo dealership. So I've spent all my money buying it and my wife has back-tracked in selling my V70 in favour of using this, so until my next pay day it's sitting and waiting! http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...psa7229980.jpg http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...psae87eb46.jpg http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps974d0095.jpg http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps604a3c9d.jpg 45 years difference: http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps385b62cf.jpg |
