Don't have dip lights but have side lights and full beam.

Hia I am new to this.
While driving the other day I don't have any dip lights but I do have side lights and full beam. Called out Rac and they checked all the fuses and they are all ok. I'm getting power to the lights and the switch is on dips but I don't have any dip lights as they are staying on side lights? All the other lights on the front and on the back are working.

What year is your car? If it is post mid-1999, then most probably the CEM

Did they fail both at the same time? Or one at a time?

If yourt car is from mid1999 onwards and you have a CEM, you can measure the voltage on the bulb connector with and without the bulb. Remove the bulb and measure the voltage. If you are getting 12V with the bulb off and 0V with the bulb on, then 99% it is the relays in the CEM that failed. If you get 0V with the bulb on and out, then it still might be the CEM, or it could be a wiring problem

Do the full beams stay on when the stick is released or do they only work while you hold the stick back?

I had a similar issue with my car where I only had sidelights and full beam if I held the stick back, after a few attempts at fixing the issue it turned out to be the the switch on the dash to the right of the steering wheel, the switch had got very hot and melted a few bits causing one of the contacts to get pushed back and not make a good contact meaning my dipped beam wouldn't work.
