Engine coolant temperature

My temperature gauge has stopped working on my 2004 c70 T5, and my climate control led flash red when I start the car. My code reader tells me the engine coolant temperature signal is missing, I’ve changed the stat and housing, tried a different set of clocks, but no joy. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thermostat doesn't give temperature data to ECU. The coolant temperature sensor does. Test that part, the connector and its wiring, change if required.

Is that not the sensor on the stat housing? Is there another sender that I’ve missed as that could very well be my problem, lol.

There's a sender beneath the upper rad hose on the housing, not sure if that's the one you mean.

Yea, changed that with the stat housing for a new one, wiring looks good as does the plug, any other ideas? Can’t seem to find a Volvo friendly auto electrician in Kent anywhere!

Did you have any luck finding the cause of your missing temperature reading?
