Windscreen

Has anyone got any useful pearls of wisdom to offer from personal experience of fitting a bonded windscreen themselves? I've already got the windscreen and am reluctant to pay someone else to do a job I should be quite capable of doing myself.

it really is a job for the professional it is a heavy screen and you only have one chance to plonk it on the bonding in exactly the right place , what if you crack it ?
Then there is the trim and clips which can be a pain to fit . The glass and frame need to completely clean and rust free and temperatures are important . National windscreens should do a good job for a very reasonable sum and will have the primers and activators and bonding agent .

Absolutely agree with Clan. Never mind cracking it, as he said it's getting it down first time, 's prob. Watch the person u hire to do it, it's instantly clear why we aren't doing it! Good luck.

If you can it's probably best to take your car and screen to one of their depots. It will be nice and warm and they will have all of the kit. They should also have two fitters available for the tricky positioning part of the operation. One man on your cold drive is not a good first option.
