I’m sure the Russian version which I purchased and the original posting group bought won’t be due to trade sanctions. But there is a version that plugs into the obd 2 socket. That one does shut off the stop/start (not sure if that can be over ridden). There are vids on UTube showing it working.

I have one of the ones that plug into OBD socket no messing about taking bits of the car opens and closes off car fob also does the same of the switch in car and turns of stop/start just short of £100.00 a few years ago from the clever Russian
Great bit of kit why didn’t Volvo do it

not interesting in buying one more of a technical question, can someone that bought one of these units please confirm that this is a 5 wire unit.

if so it appears they are just using a relay

that should be wired like this in theory:

NO (Normally open): wire to the circuit to close the tailgate
NC (normally closed): wire to the circuit to open the tailgate
Common: the power to the tailgate button
conditional wires that activate the function of the relay are tied to the open current of the tailgate lock

i will be doing this on my xc60 with a 12v 5 pin relay and should be around £4.99 for the relay after someone confirms that the units they have fitted are only 5 wires.. note im pretty sure im right.. i just cant justify the insane price they are selling it for when it apears to electronically just be a relay. if this works i could make my own thread and a simple picture guide.. i would do a video but its hard enough holding wires let alone a camera and wires.
