Stripping wheels

Can anyone recommend a product to strip the paint off alloy wheels ? My wheels just laugh at nitromors

This stuff works well if you have an angle grinder.

Failing that, if you don't mind doing a bit of filling afterwards just a normal wire wheel works pretty darn well too.

Try cellulose paint thinners, £7 a gallon at my motor factors and will eat any lacquered waterbased paint.

Failing that find someone with a blast cabinet.
I have just had a price for stripping and powder coating my 17" xc wheels, ballpark figure £75 a bare wheel from a reputable powdercoater in Swansea.

Thanks for the suggestions , I've got an abrasive wheel similar to that when I get back home , as for thinners no effect at all, it's like stove enamel , I've been using wire wheels/abrasives , but there's so many nooks ( xc90 Atlantis wheels ) I've been quoted £80 a wheel , that seems cheap now !

I think you have answered your own question by now realising £80/wheel does not represent an expensive job when it is considered how much work goes into this - and expense. If you did it yourself you must consider the cost of the materials inc. paint an lacquer etc. Nice to do things but being realistic, despite considerable effort, the end result is unlikely to match that of the professionals. Formula:- find about 4 days of labouring work ( which is at least what you would spend timewise on 4 wheels) and let the professionals do a good job for you.
