Dimmer radio display

Hi got problem with my radio display. Its bright green all the time and its quite annoying at night. Where or how I can change that? I can easily dimming spedo and waterfall using button next to light switch but no idea how to dimming radio display.

On my 2010 C30 there's a small dome in the middle of the dash, close to the windscreen, and I believe that is a light sensor. Covering that should have the radio screen change from green to black. Perhaps that has failed? Mine will also light up my dials once it starts t get dark if I've left the light switch in the default '0' position.

All above is correct, but I also vaguely remember there could be a setting that changes that, either in waterfall menu or programmed in Vida itself. You can choose when or if radio goes to "negative" image or not...
did it work correctly before?

Agree, there is an auto dimming sensor.
I don't recall a setting in in the waterfall to adjust it but maybe vida can do it.

Thanks guys for help. Im new owner and is like that since I got the car. Got a wee sensor with red light in the middle on dash, but thought its for alarm. Never check on vida, but looks like I have to find someone with vida in Ayrshire or Glasgow. Any forum members with vida in Scotland who can help me check the car?

MDS40 Mar 13th, 2019 20:20

Yes, the sensor is near the red light.
Mine will change over to night mode even in very dull and gloomy daytime,

So the sensor in my car is faulty or I have to change settings in vida

Both are possible and both would require Vida itself (either to change settings or to test the sensor). Im not sure actually how to test it in your case without Vida - I can just cover it with hand and radio changes dim to "night" mode, but except for that I am not sure what else is affected. I know DRL lights would change to different PWM mode but you wont notice that with naked eye.
Do you have auto-dimming mirror? It dims only during night time so it would be possible to conduct a test with flashlight.

Im pretty sure that in my car is auto dimming mirror. So the best way for me is find someone with vida and chceck all settings. Is it easy to buy this sensor, do you know part number?
