My satnavs gone again
This is getting tiresome. My v90 satnav now says I'm in the middle of the North sea. At least I'm not getting warnings about exceeding the speed limt.
But what is interesting is the offset is getting worse with each journey, and the compass direction is all wrong. Anyway, I know the obvious fix is the 10 minute battery disconnect, but has anyone had anything sensible from Volvo about fixing this? Its just not acceptable on a £40k plus car. Nick |
Apparently this is a known issue for which Volvo recently released a software update, so suggest a call to your dealer to get it installed.

I have this issue on a 65 Plate XC90 as well. 2nd time its happened and last time they said they had a SW fix as well ;-) Car thinks its in the Atlantic at the moment.
My modem and car Wifi Hotspot also deactivate when the error occurs. And I can only use certain features in Volvo On Call. Dealer visit seems to be the only solution. |
There are significant GPS jamming trials going on across the UK at the moment as part of a military exercise.

I work in Ipswich and live 15 miles away. Have no problem with GPS on Satnav at all.

Lucky you. Spoke to the dealer and asked if they had a fix. The tech guru was away but I was advised not to disconnect the battery in case I buggered up something else. I'll pop it in anyway... my map seems to be a bit out of date too looking at the volvo site so they will do that too is suspect.
Car is still in the north sea off the coast of Lowestoft :-) |

And 5 miles into the journey to the dealer to fix this... hey presto the sat nav found itself. I wouldnt mind but I'd been to Oxford and back at the weekend so it had had lots of chance to reset itself earlier. How very odd.
Anyway I turned round and went home. See how long it lasts this time |
NickV90: Mine is now fixed after dealer visit. The dealer said the May 2018 software update has a fix for Sat Navs losing their location.
