Pair of OEM Volvo door mirrors

As you were. The repro mirrors are horrid and don't work properly.

Nothing stupid money wise, please.

Care to elaborate Jon? The originals don't work on the passenger door either. But then, Volvo didn't "do" door mirrors on Amazons, it was/is the customers who insisted on them.. On my 2 door they are rear hinge types and that means the quarter lights won't reverse. That can be cured by fitting the ones hinged at the front.
Have you considered one of the larger Peep Mirrors?

I fitted a pair of these. Not cheap. Look good. Work well. The chrome on the stems started to pit a month after fitting. Monkey metal ?. coated them with vasalene in an effort to protect them. Not good. Regards Paul

Has anyone come up with a way of creating more angle on these mirrors?
The driver's side is OK, but because of the reflected angle required on the passenger's side to get a good rear view, I have not achieved this yet......

These may help, it's what they were made for. You can also file a little bit out of the metal cup to give you a few more degrees of turn.

I posted this link previously for a similar query but don't know if anyone gave them a try. For the price it could be well worth it.

The repro mirrors are useless. Looking at the ones on Jon's car the chrome is pitted already. the veiw from the the mirror glass is not great and they flop abot all over the place.

They're crap.

Derek - sorry, I realise the mirrors were dealer fit jobs. I don't want peep mirrors because I had a set and they destroyed the ally quarter light post after a year.
I'd like a pair of the original wide angle door mirrors. Wing mirrors aren't really my thing.

The quality of the metal arms may be poor but before drilling the doors we spent a lot of time making sure they were in the correct position. The drivers side is perfect. the passenger mirror when adjusted to it`s max is also very good. If it moves a fraction it`s useless. On the P1800S the dash mounted rear view mirror gives a very good wide view. A glance over the left shoulder is no big deal. £105.00 and corrosion within 4 weeks not good !

That doesn't sound good I have just bought some of these to fit to my car as it had no mirrors, now just wondering whether I should fit them, seems odd they would be sold if such poor quality as I have normally found Brookhouse very good to deal with so got the mirrors from them instead off getting some copy Porsche door mirrors I was considering.
I assume mirror placement purely depends on each individual drivers size there is no set place, if there is a best place can someone post details please
