Dual Mass Flywheel
Bought a V70 D3 2014 around 6 weeks ago. FSH & very well looked after.
The clutch started rattling around a week ago. Took it to my mechanic who said that the Dual Mass Flywheel needs replacing. The seller/car dealer has agreed to pay 25% of the cost (even though it's technically wear & tear & wasn't on the warranty). Bad luck on my part! Thing is, I cannot find a DMF anywhere in Europe! Volvo don't have any, LUK don't have one, GSF don't have one, ECP don't have one! I have spent hours searching the internet, over the last 2 days, with no success, other than a German company who have yet to respond to my query. I've got it booked in for May 22nd to replace the DMF & clutch. I'm starting a new job soon, so really need it to be on the road! I hope there is help out there somewhere. Thanks. |
That's a poor show from LUK and Volvo
https://www.rendcarparts.com/parts-f...73/RD31401173S in Netherlands, whether they really have stock though.... Part number for flywheel is 31401173 as you will well know. Good luck with finding one. |

3 in stock on Skandix, be worth enquiring with them as they have another listed which is also in stock. Not genuine volvo but I imagine a quality make. They are based in Germany. Reliable service but a hit on postage from what I recall. |
Thanks but unfortunately this is the wrong part. I'm looking for a 31401173.
All the best. |
Have you tried Autodoc, German based so takes about a week to arrive and they are very good.
Alternatively, I have used eBay user "Volvopartstrade" if you call they only do the trade but if you message them via eBay they are very useful. Genuine dealer parts at good prices I got my D4 clutch and DMF from them in Dec. Edit just checked auto doc with the part number.... out of stock |

Two for sale - new genuine parts - from Lithuania. On Ebay - I found them by searching in Google: "Volvo 31401173"
Not cheap though... Lowest price is £889 inc delivery. Also email Volvopartstrade through Ebay - they have a number of dual mass flywheel kits listed - spume without parts numbers, so maybe a fit. I have used them several times to check availability and part numbers. Have your VIN to hand when you email. I remember having huge problems getting a dual mass flywheel for my '95 940 2.3HPT many moons ago. It had to come from Volvo Sweden then. And cost around £1000 in early 2000s... |
