Anyone know where this is on the d5 07 xc90 and how easy is it to clean please?

Hi

I have not had a look yet, but expect it to be very near to the polen filter and have two aluminium pipes emerging just like a heater matrix...

Usually, not to difficult to spot.

I will have a look and perhaps take a picture if I can!

Hi, you have the same smelly ait con that I have (or had). Mine seems to have cleared up now about a week after using one of those cans you just let go in the car for 10mins. Don't think it will last. I have bought a can of liqui moly air conditioning cleaner -

Look at item 300465734708 on e-bay you will see it (I have no connection to this seller)

Having red the instructions what I liked about this product is that you can spray it up the drain hole from the condenser (this is positioned on the passenger side behind the engine so yes the evaporator must be close to the pollen filter). On a few I have read you need to drill a hole on the inlet side which put me off. I have not used it yet as I want to wait for the smell to come back so I know it does the job for future reference.
Sorry I don’t know were exactly the evaporator is, but follow the drain and it will lead you to it. When you turn the air con on you should see water drip from this drain making easy to identify. Ie after a journey (with air con on) have a look under the car and you cannot miss it.
Not much help but hopefully some.

There are dealer adjustable settings for the air con that are for making sure it dosn't get smelly. They adjust the run on to make sure the system dries out properly. I posted a list that contained the settings a few weeks ago.

I changed the pollen filter and hey presto all is now fine. It was crumpled and in a bad position not to mention aftermarket.
