headlight bulbs

I have now been using Philips X-treme Vision +130% headlight bulbs for a month and they are fantastic! I obtained them on line from Powerbulbs.com, but may be available elsewhere of course. Although not cheap they do give me a lighted road ahead which I was not getting with the Osrams. If you, like I was, are having difficulty seeing the road against LED headlights of modern cars then I would recommend these Philips bulbs. My car is a V90 (1997) and my bulbs are H1 version. With Powerbulbs all one does is enter the car details (I think by reg details) and the correct bulbs come up.

euro car parts do them £21.99

I shopped for mine on eBay.
Seeing some Chinese knock offs at roughly £1 a piece, I bought few.
They're H1, 100W (yes, 100W), with blue coating giving almost white light.
And the biggest surprise: before I was using Philips from halfords and had to change a bulb every 4-6 months. I bought Chinese ones some 2 years ago and still have 2 as spares- first couple didn't blow yet..

Fitted Osram laser +130% to my car and carried out the lens clean as detailed on the forum.
Lights now so much better but don't know if its due to the cleaning or the bulbs. Next step will be to raise them up a little via the adjusters at the back.

You do know that 100w bulbs are illegal for use on the roads?

Well.. I don't..
I asjed MOT guy, he said that as long as pattern is there, its OK
That said- I've never seen any legal word work describing them as either legal or illegal..

I know (from mates experience) that they can burn out wiring of brand new vivaro, though..

According to this, as long as you've got 4 wheels, there is no limit:

Of course, the wiring and plastic lens might tell you otherwise....

Long before I gotten these 100Watters, I've changed lampholders to porcelain :)
Old ones burned out by previous owner
