V70 AWD 2.5 LPT TRACS switch fitting

Hi
Has anyone fit TRACKS button to his mk1 v70AWD car? Got button delivered today. Behind the blank there is ready connector for TRACKS with three cables in it.
Pressing the button does nothing though. Can anyone check if it supposed to be three cables only? Looks like TRACS button should have 5 cables connected?
Thanks and regards

To be honest, I don't know how many wires there are. What I do know is that wiring looms usually come with all the relevant connectors..........so if the car has never had that button/switch it will more than likely need a software download to enable it and possibly some extra parts, eg a different ABS module ?
Give a main dealer a ring for a price to activate it.......£££££££.
Hope I'm wrong. Good luck.

Just because it has space and wiring for the switch doesn't mean it actually has tracs fitted...check the ABS module

To see what ABS module you have, reach down under the ABS module with a mobile phone or other small camera and take a photo upwards.

You should be able to read the part number and also text which indicates whether it has TRACS etc

A -00 model would have STC instead of TRACS, if that matters.

hi, thanks for all your comments.
I've found this info https://blog.fcpeuro.com/why-dont-aw...stc-switch-p80
Not sure if STC/TRACS button has different wiring. If they do I might need STC button instead.
I'll have a look at the ABS module today.
Cheers

It is my understanding that cars with tracs/stc have different master cylinders, different brake pumps and different abs ecu's from cars without tracs/stc.

It is not going to be a case of putting a button in and doing a software update if you want it to actually work properly. Especially on the me7 cars as the abs module may well be linked up to other modules and it may not be possible to swap the ecu for a completely different one without doing various software reloads.

It would be cheaper and easier to just buy a car with it fitted already.
Having driven an S70 T5 with tracs and a C70 T5 without there is a noticeable difference in the wet but you can make a bigger difference with fitting better tyres. Tracs cars will wear out the front brake pads faster as well...

All AWD have TRACS/STC they just don't have a button to turn it off ;)
