Brake disc size
 

Hi all, looking at changing all four discs and pads on my new to me XC90 2006 D5. I read somewhere that my front discs should measure 336mm I had a quick look the other day and think mine are 308mm ish
Has it been fitted with the wrong discs do you think or were three sizes fitted from new. 308/316/336 I have seen advertised.
I suppose I will have to fit like for like so will pull a front and rear wheel and check properly. john

Don't rely on a quick look.
Take the wheel off and measure on the disc itself as perspective can give a very misleading measurement.

Don't ask me how I know. :)

All UK spec XC90's were fitted with the same size disc (336mm) which was the largest fitted by Volvo.

I did have a quick measure it was only very rough a few says ago when new tyres were fitted and am sure it was only just over 300mm.
I will check tomorrow front and rear.
Does this mean my car was not UK supplied and I will have to fit the same as I took off.
I have what sounds like a noisy wheel bearing it gets louder as I accelerate and changes tune as I steer left and right.
I intend to replace discs and pads,all wheel hubs, timing belt, water pump and auxiliary belt kit.

Quite often the disc size is written on the caliper carrier, but you can only see it with the wheel off

Update time, sorry my mistake I do have 336mm discs.
