1997 v70 t5 turbo identification
 
Does anybody know what turbo was standard fitment to these? Looking to buy a replacement but the part number plate is missing. Tia

Original would have been a TD04-16T with a 2.5" straight exhaust flange but if the original is not on there then you will need to check more carefully what has been fitted as a common upgrade is to go to a 3" angled exhaust flange, with a corresponding downpipe - which is easy to do with volvo parts from later models but if you have something aftermarket it could be different again. It's unusual for the part number plate to be missing on a volvo turbo.

I thought that it might be a 16t wasnt 100%. This is the only pic i have of the unit

Difficult to confirm but that looks like the original.

If you decide to refurbish the old one there is an excellent refurb guide in the articles section.

Strange that the ID plate is missing, when I was doing mine I went shopping and looked at quite a few 2nd hand ones (bought one to refurb prior to swapping) and they all had the ID plates on.
