Repair / Recon Recommendation Wanted

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations for an outfit who can recon/repair my ABS Control Module. I'm aware it can be done in a DIY fashion, but I currently have no facilities or tools to attempt same at this time. I've already dropped a quick mail to Shemtek, now awaiting a reply, but can anyone provide recommendations for any other companies I could try?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Do you absolutely know it's the module?? Shemtek did mine earlier in the year and it made no difference. Am taking the car back in November to have the ABS gutted and properly diagnosed. Point I'm making is: it isn't always the module...

Might be worth a look...

sdg1970 - Shows all the signs of a unit failure, ABS light on dash, codes pointing at sensors etc, but everything other than the unit has now been changed..

volvo again - Thanks, have dropped these guys a mail.

Thanks both

Mine was the same. So I took off the ECU and posted it to Shem. When I put it back on, the result was the same..

sdg1970 - Interesting. Let me know how you get on in November, in case I cannot get mine rectified - always handy to know what else is going wrong (in the case of my S70, usually quite a bit!).

Thanks

Hi Roge,

I have the exact same issue and could do with sending it somewhere to fix. I’d even be willing drive over for a day trip somewhere to save time . Can you let us know what happens as I may tag along - if they fix 2 units maybe they can bring the total cost down ;)

As far as I am aware, all these companies are doing is resoldering the joints and nothing else. I don't think they actually check that they work after resoldering, so how does anyone know they have actually fixed it! The problem is usually the unit, but it still might be even when they have supposed to have fixed it!!
