2009 C30 1.6 Drive - Error 6620 Glow Plug Control

Hi gents,

Ive got a 2009 C30 1.6 DrivE, recently it feels a little under powered and its now thrown up the reduced enginer performance message. the message can be cleared but remains on in the background.

The car has done 80k and only ever does long runs, too and from work. 25 miles each way.

I had the car plugged in at a local garage and they reported a resetable 2A20 DPF Particle trap defective error and a non resettable 6620 Glow Plug Control Fault.

Is anyone familiar with these faults ? and suggest possible solutions.

I have read on other forums that these faults can be a red herring.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You've posted in wants rather than the general forum, which might explain the lack of replies.
Your experience almost exactly mirrors mine, even down to the mileage. I replaced the DPF (due at 75k on MY2010 1.6D Drive Start/Stop) and all the glow plugs. Three out of the four were knackered. High compression diesels make little use of glow plugs, which is why any faults don't manifest themselves as poor starting. Resolved the faults and the car is running well again.
