Rubber/groaning sound while driving in the rain

Good evening,

Noticed last week while I was out driving in the rain that I have some kind of weird noise coming from the frontend (front-left?) of the vehicle. Best way I can describe it is the noise one can get from wet/moist rubber, so possibly water getting somewhere where it shouldn't? Most noticable while turning at low speeds (or even standing still), but also while braking.

Took it out again during dry conditions and the sound was completely gone. Tested it again during wet conditions earlier this week, and the sound is back.

Car is a Volvo V50 T5 -04 Automatic.

Any ideas would be welcome! Since I'm aware it's a very vague issue I'll try to keep an eye on the thread for any questions.

There's not really much to go on here - perhaps you could try spraying small areas of the underside of the car with a hose and then going for a drive, that way you might be able to narrow down the source?

I have heard worse ideas actually. Will write this down and do it whenever I have the opportunity to (easier to do at my parent's house, rather than the apartment block I'm living in right now).
