V50 2.0d tuning
Hi all,
I know it's not a performance car but I would like to get more out of it. I've got a V50 2.0d 136bhp version. I know a remap is the best way to gain poerformance but I would like more than that, maybe hitting the 200bhp mark if possible. Any info on the best route to take would be greatly appreciated. Here's a quick shot of the car in question: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psox4hapvv.jpg Ben |
difficult this one, sure a diesel expert will pop along but as you said remap. probably look at induction and getting some air in there.
Probably better keeping an eye out for a D5 really. |
200BHP is a push on these but can get D5ish figures -
Approx 170Bhp/400Nm Can't quite recall if that involves deleting the DPF but DPF delete and EGR delete (with blanking plate) are quite commonly done on these cars. :) |
Cheers for the replies.

The 2.0d feels fairly rapid in standard tune thanks to torquey delivery, so 'even' aiming for the 170bhp (and associated torque increase) should reap benefits.
Take a look at Shark Performance: http://www.sharkperformance.co.uk/vo...-0/remaps-6327 Out of interest, what springs and dampers are you running (stance looks good)? |

I have the mk2 focus rs air filter, its s direct fit in to the box.
Egr blank and unplugged, very easy to do. Focus st mk2 intercooler is a direct fit I'm de-Catted too I run all that on a pap tuning box and it's fairly rapid tbf, tie all them in and get a re-map. You will be fairly close I'm over in aldershot all this month if you want a look at mine |
I have a 2.0d remapped to 170 in my C30.
I'm just wondering how it affects MPG? I have read on some places that it can actually increase it? My trip computer is giving me an official MPG reading of 46mpg which seems optimistic (haven't worked it out myself yet as I only just got the car) but would this be skewed by the remap? |
The 2.0D in good fettle can muster over 50mpg on the motorway and north of 55mpg on 50-60 mph country runs. That's not bad in this day but it was quite something in 2004, it was a bit of a VAG basher.
