Hi Newbie(kind of) with a new car, whatdda think?

Hi guys,

I'm sure I used to be on this forum, but my user didn't work anymore.

I just stretched myself to get a 940 estate, as I've got lots of house DIY to do.

I got this one, but its 300 miles away.... :)

I used to have a 760 GLE estate and man that car liked a drink, I hope this car is much better than my old v6 760. Assuming all is okay and I dont end up on the AA truck, this looks like a bargain for a celebration with sensible miles 136K.

I'm a sucker for some plastic wood and automatic :)

Hope to be active here (again) as my old 760 was a few years ago.

Ahhh i got my user name wrong.....odd tho, the only v6 i had was the 760.

Not looking forward to the journey (;(

Hi.
Looks good, its amazing how much car can be had for comparatively little money. Happy motoring.

Great looking car!

That's a LOT of car for £750 looks like you're on a winner with that one :)

Cheers for the welcome guys, and I do hope I'm onto a winner, as I cannot afford to throw money away. No such thing as 'only' 750 for me!

It takes a brave (or stupid!!!) guy to get a thirsty old bus at a time like this, but if the right vehicle leaps into view you gotta grab it. I especially don't like the concept of disposable cars, with 10 year lifespans

Looking around that seems to be a bargain for a celebration, but dear for 'lesser' models.

I defo couldv'e got cheaper and nearer....if I wasn't hung up on spec....now where is that link on fitting a MBC ;)

Looks nice! I was worried when I saw smoke/steam on the engine bay pic - but then realised it was sun-glare on the camera lol!

Very nice, they do look good in silver, what engine and milage has it got? As a side track, anyone know where I can get the wood dashboard bits for a 940?

Its a 2.3 i assume its an LPT with 136K 2 owners. My silver 760 ended up with crazed paint on the bonnet, hope this one doesnt. I admit I'd have loved ot to be mulberry, but silver hides slight scratches and stone chips much better.

My own side question the cambelt was changed in 2006 approx 30k miles ago, would you tempt fate, or leave on the drive until I had the funds to pay for changing it?
