Creaking front end

My front suspension creaks when going over gentle surfaces (more with the steering turned).

Anyone had this? it's driving me mad now, Wishbones are only 6 months old, was thinking if it could be the anti-roll bar D-Bushes?

I've not heard of drop links creaking (they tend to knock/clatter).

do you get a "groan/creak" type sound if you are turning the steering wheel when moving slowly, as in while doing the parking shuffle forwards and back ?

My V50 does those, but nothing any other time *unless the air duct scoop has fallen into two part Again and clunks ,,

Top strut bearings?
Mine was creaking like ship's hull....

Yes that's it, creaking like a Wooden Boat!

I had new top bearings about 5 years ago (30K) didn't really expect to replace again but will check. I don't really get noise when steering left/right but when the front end lifts/dips very slightly it creaks.

yep, good comparison ;) Mine was more like submarine creak but also it was audible when turning l/r on standstill. Fixed immediately when shock mounts got replaced.

I had the front end off the ground Saturday, there was no roughness or noises around the top mount bearings but I did feel some free play in a Drop Link so will start by replacing those two and see what happens.
