Was reading that the new V40 will have a pedestrian safety airbag....welldone Volvo once again first for safty!

Looks like a truly innovative car.

Pity I will be about 100 years old before I can afford one.

So long as it doesn't go off at the slightest* bump and require thousands to repair. I believe I've read some comments on Pistonheads about Nissan GT-Rs which have a pyrotechnic device to lift the bonnet in a pedestrian impact. Loads of stuff and cost to replace.

Very good point. Anyway Volvo is again the first to add another new safety feature.

Remind me not to spend an evening with anyone who owns one of these. I can just picture them endlessly texting the car instead of talking to me.
