Just wondering guys , does anyone know or or have a book of the history of Volvo.

I seem to be getting interested in the original Volvo cars . Just a thought to ask .

Thanks for the reply , read a little online but I find it nice to relax in the garden with a good book .

There's 2 I know of; one is a beige/cream coloured book that covers upto the 700's and then a 2nd that covers upto the fwd cars of the 90's

There's copies of both at my parents, so I'll have a hunt and see if I can find names and ISBN's.

The 1st one I mentioned has production numbers for all engine/body combinations upto the date of publication, has photos of some of the concept cars (like the 243/263 that I mentioned earlier today) and cars such as the Safety Concept Car et al.

After 20 mins searching on the net, here it is

I'll find the other one when I visit my parents at the weekend, and I will get round to doing photos of the models that are at home...

I'll see if I can get details for the other book as well; I can't remember much about it as I've not spend much time there since Dad got it.

It's more recent so might not be as expensive to get hold of.

There are Haynes guides to the marque, but the benefit of Lindh book is the access it had to Volvo files and historical prototypes as it seems to have been written with AB Volvo's assistance.
