Aircon Regas for <£22
 

After 8 years the aircon is not blowing as cold as it once did, and usually a regas will sort it. So before paying the usual £40-£50 I had a look around and found a nationwide chain doing it through Groupon very cheaply.

Is that the right gas for a 2002 V70? If so, I'll be buying.

Applies to vehicles with R134A refrigerant gas only. Vehicles with R1234YF refrigerant gas are excluded

If you still got (or can Google a copy of) the owners manual it'll be in the specifications section. Otherwise there should be a sticker under the bonnet.

My 58 plate V70 is R134a according to my owners manual, so all good for me.

Edit: It seems R1234YF is the latest refrigerant for newer cars as it has a lower global warming potential than R134a. My bet is that given the age of your car it'll be R134a. http://www.ac4cars.co.uk/r1234yf.html

It's a great deal but it looks like there are only 15 branches offering the service so double check before buying.

Considering how rarely it needs doing and you're saving maybe £4 a year, I would still just use a regular regas service.

R134a was used on vehicles from the early 90s up until a year or two ago :thumbs_up:

Three or four years ago mostly. Mercedes were among the last to gas with R1234YF, because it cited safety fears from the propane based R1234YF. These do have a 'flammable' yellow hazard safety sticker under the hood should you look for it.
