In car safety cameras
Just found this on local news paper web pages
Safety or big brother The end of those who think they are fit to drive after taking drugs or alcohol https://www.thecourier.co.uk/lifesty...cated-driving/ |
At first sight I'd say that anything that removes drugged/drink drivers can only be a good thing, but then I've never used drugs and gave up alcohol when I passed my driving test more than 40yrs ago so could be classed as biased? However from what I've heard/read the "system" will also decide if you're too tired/drowsy/inattentive to continue driving and what other parameters have they installed/will install in future?

Volvo needs to be careful here.
I DO NOT want a camera pointing at my face while I'm driving and I'm sure many other people feel the same way. Business owners I'm sure would appreciate this technology in their fleet, or public service vehicles, bus companies, taxi etc, but NOT for private vehicles. It's great having a "Vision 2020" but they must remember not to alienate their customer base. Am I going to buy a car that points a camera at me and judges my behavior? No chance. |
