Bonnet swap anybody?
 

In parallel with clearing out my spare room of car parts I also need a big part!
I sold my 264 some time ago as-is although I bought a brand new bonnet amongst other new items for it. This "coffin-nosed" bonnet design of the late '70s/early '80s was prone to leading-edge rust so this new one was an unusual find (bought from garage clearance of enthusiast who apparently died).
Dry-stored all its life, in original factory grey primer but now of course no longer needed. However, the front edge of my 1976 244 bonnet is rusting badly so I need a good bonnet for that now!
Before I go to ebay can anybody help - am flexible so could sell separately.

Paul, I'm sure my brother Matt would like teh bonnet for the pickup restoration. Good chance he will have a good early 244 bonnet to swap

Get a dozen large two inch gate washers and put these in the bonnet springs when it’s half up - when you lift the bonnet all the way up the springs stay part extended and are easier to unhook (saw that on YouTube!). It’s at least a two person job.....I’ve a pristine spare late model bonnet but probs no use to you...

they are still available from Volvo. Not that expensive either. I bought one recently about £250+vat.
