Twin Exhaust conversion
 

Hi All

Looking for a bit of advise.
i have a MY1999 petrol 2.5T B5254T
my car has the standard big silencer with single pipe outlet.
i would like to put a twin exhaust on at the back.

Can someone advise if i goto motor factors and get a twin rear section will it bolt to my front exhaust section?

not sure if front sections are the same size and length.
if not will a front pipe section fit onto my turbo?

i know there's mountings that need modifying, and different rear bumper.

Do you mean 1 silencer wigth 2 tail pipes sticking out of it (like an S60R for example) or 1 tailpipe either side of the car?

To get what you seem like to be suggesting, the most effective route would be a custom made exhaust outlet. They will have a better chance of getting the sound and drone better than the average universal fit tin can sold at motorfactors.

If your car is front wheel drive, and you want the twin outlets, ie one on the left and one on the right of the car.
Then you will need to get a custom one made.

I want the twin exhaust, one on left side one on right side of bumper.
The V70R AWD has it.

So what I wanted to know is can I put a V70R AWD back section on my front section?

I know I have FWD so the rear pipe that goes over the prop / rear diff will go over nothing as I do not have one.

What I do not want is to buy a new catalitic converter if I don't need one.

I not necessarily go to local motor factors, but do not want to spend £500 on a rear section from performance shop and find that will not fit and waste of money.

Exhaust layout and pipe diameter is completely different on awd cars too fwd so wouldn't fit without a lot of custom work anyhow

As has been said a custom exhaust shop will be able to make what you want

And you first need to consider the heat insulators. In all cars with a single exhaust the tail pipe is on the opposite side to the fuel filler. You absolutely need to keep them apart. When a tail pipe is put on the same side as the fuel filler there is great emphasis on designing something that protects the fuel. If you are travelling down a motorway the exhaust is going to be in the region of 600c and a sudden stop followed by a rear end shunt will collapse the components and you will want as much separation as possible.
