Buying a second hand s40/v50
 

hi, new to this forum,

I am looking at buying a second hand volvo S40 or V50 2.0D. I have test driven a S40 but not really sure what problem areas I should be looking for.

How does the V50 compare handeling wise to the S40? is it worth having the space in the back?

I've recently bought an S40 after years of hatchbacks and estate cars, and have to say if like me you put a lot of large stuff in the back of the car then you might find the boot a bit limiting. I've been able to get most things into the S40 without any major problems but have been caught out a couple of times. The biggest thing I miss is a rear wiper, sounds like a fairly minor issue but I don't think I'll buy another saloon just for that reason alone. Really like the car all the same though.

have got a S40 sport 1.8 petrol put by for me untill wednesday when i will be test driving and payfor it all going well. Is there any problem areas i need to look out for? has done 95,000 miles.
