De-chromed XC60
As promised, I uploaded some photos of my de-chromed XC60. I know de-chroming isn't for everybody, but it adds character in my very own opinions. Hopefully this can help users out there to decide whether to get it done.
I have also added a black roof which borrowed the design from the XC40 rear quarter. Enjoy the photos. Congratulations!! Looks stunning, especially with the XC40-style black roof, which matched perfectly with the rest of the white. What happened to the rear engine-type and trim level emblems; I know you can order the car without them being stuck at the tear.
Any feedback on the ceremic coating type and applying company will be greatly appreciated. Enjoy the car!! |
Looks great. You need to get those wheels powder coated black next ;)

Oh yes, I requested the dealer to debadged the car to achieve a cleaner look. Or to hide the fact that this is a D4~ =)

I like the the de-chrome and the black roof but prefer the wheels exactly as they are - the dark areas match the black and the machined faces match the roof rails.
Top job. |
I personally like my chrome bits. But I think the dechroming works well with the white paint,
Mine being a darker colour, I think looks better with the chrome. I also like the black roof. So yes I think it looks good. Enjoy your car. |
That looks smart and works well with the white body.
I’m curious though....how do you dechrome? Is it a vinyl carefully cut and applied? Or are the chrome parts removed and sprayed? Have you also had the rear lights smoked? |
